Günter and Gwendal are like the odd couple of Kyou Kara Maou. They may disagree at times, but they seem to be made for each other, in one sense or another. Günter, despite his overly energetic and often silly nature, is strong and capable of anything he decides to take on, just like Gwendal. Gwendal may be cold on the outside, but Günter seems to have the ability to soften his demeanor, even if just in private. I believe that Günter enjoys breaking down Gwendal's walls, but Gwendal's strength helps make him stronger. Their relationship transcends the boundaries of being just friends. They could be very close friends, partners, or in a romantic situation, depending on the eyes of the beholder. Günter may benefit from Gwendal's strength, but Gwendal also benefits from Günter's view of things. Günter has always been the one to teach Gwendal how to enjoy life, and take the time to enjoy the little things. Simply put, they need each other, in several ways, on several facets, and their relationship cannot be defined by any conventional means.
