Welcome to Essence, a manhwa fanlisting and manhwa site directory. If you love manhwa as well, please join the fanlisting. Not sure what I'm talking about? Check out the about section.

In the directory, we accept any site, currently maintained, that deals with manhwa in general or any manhwa title in particular. If you have a manwha related site, whether it be a shrine, fanlisting, fanfic or fanart site, or something else, please consider joining the directory.

About the site

Essence was started in September of 2005 because there wasn't a fanlisting for manhwa, and after my approval I wanted to offer something with the site besides just the fanlisting, hence the directory I had been thinking about for some time.

Hopefully Essence will bring together fanlistings and sites from around the 'net related to manhwa, in an effort to help interested fans locate interesting sites and fanlistings in an easier way. (Oh, and yes, I'm lazy and I named the directory after the layout.)

NOTE: Until I figure out SimpleDir, I'm running the directory manually. I wanted to wait until I got SimpleDir figured out, but it's killing me.

Directory and Site Updates

April 23, 2006 - I finally got the site up and running after adopting it from Danae Cassandra. I'm still running the links section manually, but I'm going to figure out a directory program sooner or later, when I have the time. Until then, please bear with me and the manual updates. :)

About the Layout

Danae Cassandra got this layout from Aethereality.net. It features Skadei and Lala from the manwha Princess by Seung Won Han. She thought the layout was simply so beautiful that she knew it was perfect for this directory, and I agree, so I'm continuing to use it.
