characters

Kai Lee: Half-Korean and half-Caucasian. Kai is a real ladies man. He's dated nearly every girl in school, and then dumps them almost immediately. To date Kai is something of a status symbol. When he meets Sunil, all that changes. Kai seems to have made a change for the better, though his rebellious nature can't be calmed.

Spike Washington: Half-Korean and half-African American. Kai's one and only friend. Also in love with Sunil. Spike is a pretty good guy, but he gets mixed up in things he shouldn't. He owes Kai a lot because of something he did for Spike when he got in trouble.

Sunil Sohn: A foreign student from Korea, also Kai's girlfriend. Sunil seems pretty naive at first, and she always gets mixed up in Kai's trouble.

J.J. (Judas Jesus): Adopted from Korea but abandoned by his American parents, J.J. lives with Kai's family. An aspiring singer, J.J. performs in night clubs with his band, though he's only 14 years old. He's incredibly intelligent and has a lot going for him. But J.J.'s got it rough, especially in his quest for a family. He never seems to be able to keep anything together, and it's never his fault. (I hate to admit it, but J.J.'s my favorite character. I think he should have been the main character of the series instead of Kai. He's infinitely more interesting, and doesn't have a jerky bone in his body.)

Gelda Lee: Kai's spoiled half sister, who has a weird love-hate relationship with J.J. Gelda is truly selfish and obnoxious. I have no idea how Kai puts up with her jealous, petty and sometimes violent antics.

Sangyul Choi: Kai's cousin from Korea. His purpose in life is to annoy Kai. He comes to live in his house, wears his clothes, trashes his room and sleeps in his bed. The situations can be funny, but he really gets on my nerves sometimes.
