about asagi shogo

Asagi Shogo appears twice in the land of CLAMPdom: X/1999 (the movie) and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. As most of us know, Tsubasa is (more or less) official fanfiction (with a really good plot). Shogo is *not* the person he was in X/1999 and appears in more of an 'alternate universe' sense. If I remember correctly, Shogo did not even appear in the "X/1999-ish" world (but I could be wrong... I may have to go back and re-read my manga).

In X/1999, Shogo is a Dragon of Earth who wishes for the destruction of Earth to erase humanity completely. Little is known about him, other than his ability to manipulate water. His true motives remain a mystery to me, however the continuous destruction of the Earth by humans is most certainly a factor.

In Tsubasa, Shogo is much the same as in X/1999, though his desire to destroy the world no longer exists. Instead, he is transformed into a powerful water manipulator who crosses to the side of good. He likes to smile and is quite friendly in the world where his first appearance is made. Shogo makes multiple appearances throughout the series, however I remember him most in the Hanshin Republic and the Piffle World briefly during the Dragon Fly Race. As far as I know, he has not been seen again, but that may change. It seems that CLAMP has a fondness for bringing about Shogo's reappearance in the series. As everything is tied together between Tsubasa and xxxHOLIC, the possibility for Shogo's appearance in the latter series may be possible, though I haven't seen any hints to his appearance yet.
